About
THE FILM
For His Name Sake is an intense family drama that tells the story of a young couple facing a profound struggle to save their newborn's life. As they embark on this heart-wrenching journey, the young man must confront his past and seek out his estranged father, who might be the only hope for his child's survival.
This film explores themes of faith, courage, and the unbreakable bond of family, guided by the spiritual message from Psalms 23:3: “He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.”
As passionate filmmakers we aim to create movies that provide insight into the life of an average person while addressing universal themes like faith, family and the resilience of the human spirit. The type of film, that leaves an impression on the viewer years after they’ve experienced the emotional journey of the characters. This project is inspired by films like John Q and The Shack. No bells or whistles, just real human stories about personal growth and emotional vulnerability.
With this project we want to take all those influences and infuse them into a story about what a father is willing to do for their child and what the process may look like when trying to heal from family traumas. Circumstances can evoke the emotional state of a situation in our past that requires remedy. We live in a time where mental well-being is on the forefront of social discussions. Through this film we hope to make a positive contribution to that conversation.
We hope this story will deepen our faith and create awareness around family traumas and the importance of fathers.
